Description
Highlights
- Sequences a standard Hobby/RC servos for coordinated motion for Animatronics
- Servo Commanded to move between 2 positions with triggers out to other actuators at ends of motion
- No programming or coding of any kind!
- The two positions to cycle between are set by two potentiometers.
- The speed of motion between the two positions is set by a potentiometer.
- Additional two potentiometers set the wait time at the ends of motion.
- Works with 90 degree or 180 degree servos
- Jumper options allow the adjustment ranges of the potentiometers to be changed.
- Triggers at ends of motion can be used to trigger other Servo Sequencers in a coordinated manner.
- Works on standard 5V and also up to 30V for higher voltage servos.
- Motion will always complete the full cycle and come back to Position1 when the switch is released.
- See datasheet for details
Potentiometers/Jumper Settings
- Potentiometer ranges can be adjusted by the jumpers for more resolution of adjustment.
- Potentiometer1 (leftmost) sets Wait Time at position1 0->10.5 Seconds /0->168 Seconds depending on jumper under it
- Potentiometer2 Sets Position1 0->90 Degrees / 0->180 Degrees depending on jumper8
- Potentiometer3 Sets Speed of motion . Range adjustable by jumper 3&4 under it.
- Potentiometer4 Sets Position2 0->90 Degrees / 0->180 Degrees depending on Jumper8
- Potentiometer5 (rightmost) Sets Wait Time at position2 0->10.5 Seconds /0->168 Seconds Depending un jumper under it
- Bridge (short) these jumpers on the back of the board to change operational modes and the range of adjustment set by the pots.
- JP1 : Sets the width of the trigger pulse sent out when at position 2 . 100mS (unbridged) / For full duration of wait (bridged).
- JP2: Changes wait time adjustment range at position2 0-10.5 Sec (unbridged) / 0-168 seconds (bridged)
- JP3: Changes Max Speed 256 Degree/Sec (unbridged) / 32 Degrees/Sec (bridged)
- JP4: Changes Max Speed 256 Degree/Sec (unbridged) / 4 Degrees/Sec (bridged)
- JP3&4: Changes Max Speed 256 Degree/Sec (both unbridged) / 2048 Degrees/Sec (both bridged) – (if servo can go that fast.)
- JP5: Changes wait time adjustment range at position 1 0-10.5 Sec (unbridged) / 0-168 seconds (bridged)
- JP6 : Sets the width of the trigger pulse sent out when at position 1 . 100mS (unbridged) / For full duration of wait (bridged).
- JP7 : Makes Triggerout2 Trigger at both ends of motion. TriggerOut2 (unbridged) / TriggerOut2 OR TriggerOut1 (bridged)
- JP8 : Sets range of signal 90/180 degrees 1mS->2mS/0.5mS->2.5mS
- JP9 : Inverts the Trigger Polarity to give Low Going Pulses (unbridged)/ High Going Pulses(Bridged)
- Note: When setting positions/90/180 etc, do not rail servo against end stop for any long period as it will burn out the servo.
Specs
- Supply voltage: 5V – 30V (Set by your servo voltage).
- Dimensions: PCB : 40mm x 18mm (1.56 x 0.70 Inch) / PCB + Connectors : 55mm x 18mm (2.20 x 0.70 Inch)
- Part Numbering SVO-CYC-01
- Trigger Input can be a switch to ground due to pullup to 5V on the board, but can be driven 0-5V by Arduino etc.
- Trigger Output is a 0-5V output
Applications
- Suitable for moving a standard RC/Hobby servo motor between two fixed positions.
- Use for Product testing, eg repeated pushing of buttons
- Moving a mirror
- Halloween mechanisms
- Use Triggers to Activate Counters for counting cycles
- Use Triggers to Activate Solid State Relays To actuate Solenoids or Other Loads – Use JP9 to invert Triggers
- Mechanisms needing Back and Forth motion
- Tube cutter- use continuous rotation servo to extend tubing, solenoid to cut tubing
- Liquid Dispenser- use trigger to actuate dispense pump, and servo to direct flow to intended area.
